Patti Miller Photography Blog bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

I love capturing emotion, happy, sad, a mixture of both, as long as it’s real, it’s amazing.
I see light everywhere, pretty light, bad light, and wow-I-wish-I-had-my-camera-and-some-people-
here-right-now! kind of light!(my husband can attest, I really do say this!)
My style, constantly evolving, but always capturing that emotion, with a vintage feel.
I get a lot of my inspiration from old movies. Marilyn, Bette, and even Elvis, they all
knew how to move and hold their partner with a gentleness not found today.
i
love
that.
It is my greatest honour to capture memories of some of the most important moments in
people’s lives.  It is my goal to have clients for life, marriage through pregnancy, baby & family.
I want to capture it all.

xoxo, patti

Mine on Monday | Burlington family photographer

He is my muse.  I don’t know what I will do when he is finally in school full time.   Until then, I will photograph him every chance I get.

This one reminds me a lot of my old favourite from 3 years ago.  The tables have turned and the girl is in school…

(I have this last one printed on a 30″x30″ canvas in my front hall.  It’s one of the most favourite photos I have ever taken.

Story behind it… Ian was only allowed to have his soother at bed time.  He wasn’t allowed to walk around with it, so it lived on his bed.  Sometimes through the day he would want it, and would wander up to his room & find it.  I wanted to practice capturing movement so I asked Brianna if she wanted to jump on my bed… and ummm ya she did!  I was so focused on her, I didn’t even see him wander in… but doesn’t he look so guilty?? He knows he’s not supposed to have it.  And his little blankie that he still sleeps with is in his other hand.  So precious to me.

Hope you have a great week!!

cheers!

Tracy & Paul married! | Ocala Florida wedding

I had the incredible honour and priviledge to be included in Paul and Tracy’s wedding this past Tuesday down in Ocala Florida!   First of all I think it was the coolest thing ever to have a wedding on a Tuesday!  Secondly, the weather couldn’t have been more perfect!!   I have known Tracy for 20 some years wow, time flies!  So that made this wedding extra special to be photographing.

I havn’t really begun editing yet but coudln’t resist opening  this one…

both are bike riders(yep Tracy has a Harley!!) Paul burst into an instant grin when he saw this custom bike…  and with a little sweet talking from me, to the owner, I got him to plunk  it out in some nice light and hopped on for some pics!

This pic is honestly straight out of my camera, no colour adjustments, the sky really was that blue!   Even got a gull and the moon in there too!

Can’t wait to dive into the rest!  Hope everyone has a great weekend!

cheers!

Sonia & Cory engaged! | Burlington engagement photographer

I can’t even begin to tell you how cool(pun intended) that Sonia wanted to have her and Cory’s engagement photos done in the winter, with lots of snow…  strangely it hasn’t done much snowing this winter, but we had a light dusting one night and Cory & Sonia were free to go so we worked that snow!!  (more…)

Dan & Krysta-Lee Married! | Mississauga Wedding Photographer

Dan & Krysta-Lee’s wedding day had beautiful blue skies and bright sunshine, which is quite rare for Southern Ontario in January!!  I had again expected there might be snow on the ground for their wedding photos, but it wasn’t meant to be.  However the temperature(-14C/6F) (more…)

Mine on Monday | GO CANADA!!!!!

Ok I have to admit I have been fully bitten by the Olympic bug!   Even though it is in Canada, we’re no where close… but I feel as though we are crazily enough!   I felt so much pride watching our athletes walking in during the opening ceremonies, and joy to see all the other countries present.   Vancouver is playing host to the world and I think they’re doing an amazing job!  Cudos to all who have done so much work organizing this!! (more…)

Dan & Melissa; Married! | Toronto Wedding Photographer

When Dan & Melissa booked me to photograph their wedding, I thought for sure in January there will be snow everywhere!!  Much to our surprise we were snowless, but still a beautiful & intimate winter wedding with so many unique details.  The ceremony took place at archeo trattoria, who never disappoint not only in their super warm environment, but the food is amazing and so are all the people who work there!!    (more…)

Christine & Marius married! | Burlington Wedding photographer

Christine & Marius  planned for their wedding in  January hoping for a winter wonderland.   Our weather was unseasonably warm that day, which unfortunately  meant no snow, but also allowed for slightly chilly photos instead of unbearably freezing photos.  (more…)

Mine on Monday | Burlington family photographer

Ok for today’s mine on Monday I had it all planned out.  The girl went skating with her school last week and I got some adorable shots with  my iphone…. apparently the quality sucks rocks though, no flash, crummy rink lights….  sooooo  I opted to keep that one a personal memory and have uploaded some quality iphone video footage this week of my joke telling kids.

I hate the way my voice sounds… so please excuse what a dork I sound like!

Without further adieu, the miller joke tellers;

Mine on Monday | Burlington family photographer

This weekend marked the beginning of the 2010 wedding season for me, which I have to admit I was thrilled I wasn’t stuck in a blizzard travelling to Toronto!  The unseasonably mild weather apparently also struck a chord in my boy who insisted that I needed some pink tulips which were waiting for me upon my return from wedding number 1 this weekend.  (more…)
