Patti Miller Photography Blog bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

I love capturing emotion, happy, sad, a mixture of both, as long as it’s real, it’s amazing.
I see light everywhere, pretty light, bad light, and wow-I-wish-I-had-my-camera-and-some-people-
here-right-now! kind of light!(my husband can attest, I really do say this!)
My style, constantly evolving, but always capturing that emotion, with a vintage feel.
I get a lot of my inspiration from old movies. Marilyn, Bette, and even Elvis, they all
knew how to move and hold their partner with a gentleness not found today.
i
love
that.
It is my greatest honour to capture memories of some of the most important moments in
people’s lives.  It is my goal to have clients for life, marriage through pregnancy, baby & family.
I want to capture it all.

xoxo, patti

Christine & Marius married! | Burlington Wedding photographer

Christine & Marius  planned for their wedding in  January hoping for a winter wonderland.   Our weather was unseasonably warm that day, which unfortunately  meant no snow, but also allowed for slightly chilly photos instead of unbearably freezing photos.  (more…)

Mine on Monday | Burlington family photographer

Ok for today’s mine on Monday I had it all planned out.  The girl went skating with her school last week and I got some adorable shots with  my iphone…. apparently the quality sucks rocks though, no flash, crummy rink lights….  sooooo  I opted to keep that one a personal memory and have uploaded some quality iphone video footage this week of my joke telling kids.

I hate the way my voice sounds… so please excuse what a dork I sound like!

Without further adieu, the miller joke tellers;

Mine on Monday | Burlington family photographer

This weekend marked the beginning of the 2010 wedding season for me, which I have to admit I was thrilled I wasn’t stuck in a blizzard travelling to Toronto!  The unseasonably mild weather apparently also struck a chord in my boy who insisted that I needed some pink tulips which were waiting for me upon my return from wedding number 1 this weekend.  (more…)

Mine on Monday | Burlington Photographer

This week it is just the boy…

We had some bananas that needed to be made into bread and Ian loves to help…

It’s true it would be so much easier, and so much faster if I just did it myself.

but…

Life is already going too fast and it’s rarely easy.  I need to remember to stop and make memories!!

Please excuse the last one, it’s kinda out of focus, but I held my camera way above my head to get an “aeriel” view… I’m amazed he is even in it! :)   Happy Monday all!!

Thanks to everyone for yoru comments so far up to  now we have 29 comments… I’m going to do weekly donations up to the 14th as I am sure they need the $$ now!

Thanks all who are helping in your own way!!

Krista & Todd; Engaged! | Burlington engagement photographer

Comments for Haiti

I think by now we have all heard about the utter devastation from the massive earthquake that ripped through the beautiful yet tumultuous island paradise of Haiti.

The news say they fear over 100,000 people may have died.   Those that did manage to escape with their lives, don’t have any where to live!  I imagine little water and food are available… living on the street, corpses covered with sheets everywhere.   It is in times like this I wish I could hop on a plane and go help.

But I can’t.

So I am going to borrow the concept of “Cans for Comments” and change it up a bit, and am calling it ”help Haiti”.

I will give $1 for every new comment I get between now and Valentine’s Day to the Red Cross who are leading the aid relief in Haiti.

It’s small peanuts, but maybe if we all band together, many handfuls of peanuts can make a difference.

Maybe some other photographers may join in??  Link me up so I can comment on your blogs too!

let’s show them we care.

thanks.

Winter is here and my kids are LOVING it!   I don’t mind winter, it’s the cold wind I dislike.  I often wonder if adults dislike winter because we are not properly dressed for it like kids usually are?   Nothing makes mine happier than jumping into all their gear and tearing outside, breathing in that cool fresh air and plunging into the snow.

We seem to spend much of our days hanging at the bus stop… and so my trusty iphone comes for the trip… it does pretty decent photos when there is light… but apparently we’re out waiting before light is officially up !

Yep they are:

bus-stop waitin’

snow-pant wearin’

snow-angel makin’

Half Canadian/half aussie kids!! (don’t ask me which half is which!)
